Westhaven Sea Wall

LandLAB have designed a new seawall for Westhaven Marina that provides for coastal resilience, marine ecology and an expanded public realm.

The project establishes a resilient, ecologically rich and publicly accessible waters edge space that integrates the marina with the surrounding Te Waitematā Harbour. A series of sculptural cantilevered lookouts are orientated to key city and harbour views and enhance the recreational amenity and waterfront experience. They establish new vantage points to occupy and celebrate the Waitematā.

A key element of this project has been the integration of green infrastructure and the trialling of a range of coastal ecology interventions that support marine habitats.
