Emerson Street - Napier
LandLAB are working with Napier City Council (NCC) to revitalise Emerson Street as the cities central creative, social and retail spine and provides a range of episodic experiences linking land, city and sea.
The project will transform central Napier into an adaptable shared space that prioritises people, reveals stories of past, present and future Ahuriri. It celebrates Napiers Art Deco heritage with a strong cultural narrative that reveals underlying geology, ecology and culture into a contemporary urban identity that reflects Ahuriri - Napier’s aspirations as the social and cultural heart of the Hawkes Bay.
An inclusive approach to the design considers both locals and visitors to Napier, providing an expanded public realm network of new places, spaces and expereinces. Putting pedestrians first and having the flexibility within to provide for both the everyday and Napier’s wide range of celebratory events.
